2025年9月22日至27日,上海将举办农行杯第十九届世界象棋锦标赛、第五届世界青少年象棋锦标赛及第三届世界快棋公开赛。由世界象棋联合会(WXF)主办,中国国家体育总局棋牌运动管理中心、上海市体育局等单位承办,来自25个国家和地区的183名棋手齐聚上海,共同演绎象棋盛宴。新加坡由象棋大师吴宗翰领衔,尽管许正豪退出比赛,2023年休斯顿男子团体冠军成员刘亿豪未参赛,狮城队伍聚焦参赛棋手的实力,志在续写辉煌。
休斯顿历史性胜利
2023年,第十八届世界象棋锦标赛在休斯顿举行,新加坡队凭借吴宗翰(男子个人赛第三名)和刘亿豪(第八名)的卓越表现,历史性地夺得男子团体冠军,展现了新加坡在全球象棋舞台的崛起。虽然刘亿豪此次未参赛,许正豪也因故退出,但新加坡队以强大阵容出征,目标在个人赛和青少年赛事中再创佳绩。

男子个人赛采用九轮瑞士制,前两名进入决赛;女子赛制根据报名人数确定。每局基础用时60分钟,每步加30秒。

Singapore Competes with Pride at the 19th World Xiangqi Championship in Shanghai
From September 22 to 27, 2025, Shanghai, China, hosts the 19th World Xiangqi Championship, alongside the 5th World Youth Xiangqi Championship and the 3rd World Open Rapid Tournament. Organized by the World Xiangqi Federation (WXF) and supported by the Board and Card Games Administrative Center of the General Administration of Sport of China and the Shanghai Sport Bureau, these events unite 183 players from 25 countries in a celebration of Xiangqi (Chinese chess). Singapore, led by Grandmaster Alvin Woo Tsung Han, fields a strong team to build on its historic 2023 men’s team championship, despite Koh Zheng Hao withdrawing and Low Yi Hao, a key Houston contributor, not participating this year.
Singapore’s Historic Triumph in Houston
In 2023, Singapore achieved a landmark victory at the 18th World Xiangqi Championship in Houston, securing the men’s team championship with standout performances from GM Alvin Woo (3rd in men’s individual) and IM Low Yi Hao (8th in men’s individual). This success highlighted Singapore’s rising global stature. While Low is not competing in 2025 and Koh was unable to participate, Singapore’s focus remains on its talented roster, aiming for individual and youth honors.

The men’s event features a nine-round Swiss System, with the top two advancing to a championship final, while the women’s format depends on participant numbers. Games follow WXF rules with a 60-minute base time plus a 30-second increment per move.
