The Shuanglin Cup Mindsports 2025 Xiangqi Tournament is the perfect opportunity for Chinese Chess enthusiasts to showcase their talent across three categories: Open, U21, and U12. With no rank restrictions, players of all experience levels are welcome to compete, making this an inclusive and thrilling event. Registration Fees:
Open Category: $35
U21 Category: $20
U12 Category: $10
All participants must agree to abide by the tournament rules upon registration.
Registration closes on 2 October 2025. No late registrations will be accepted.
Tournament Format
Rules: The tournament adheres to World Xiangqi Rules.
Format: 7 rounds using the Swiss Perfect system for pairings and color assignments.
Time Control: 10 minutes per player with a 3-second increment per move.
Default Rules:
Players must be seated within 5 minutes of the round’s start, or they forfeit the round.
Players seated at the wrong board will forfeit the round.
Notify the Administrator immediately if an opponent is absent at the start of a round.
Players must report game results to staff before leaving the venue.
The arbiter’s decision is final in all disputes.
Fair Play and Conduct
To ensure a fair and respectful competition:
Cheating results in immediate disqualification.
All electronic devices must be switched off or silenced during matches.
Use of electronic devices during play (except for approved purposes) is prohibited.
Any device making noise during a match results in a forfeit.
Players are responsible for time lost due to late arrival.
Organizers reserve the right to conduct searches if necessary.
Prompting other players is grounds for disqualification.
A player forfeits when their clock reaches zero.

Tournament Regulations
No outside food or drinks are allowed in the venue.
Shoes must be removed when entering Fa Tang (法堂).
All decisions by the event organizers are final and binding. Appeals will not be considered.

The SP OPEN 2025 Xiangqi Team Competition is a fantastic opportunity for Chinese Chess enthusiasts of all ranks to compete in a friendly yet competitive environment. Whether you’re a seasoned player or new to the game, this event welcomes teams of all skill levels with no rank restrictions. It’s a chance to showcase your strategic prowess, bond with teammates, and vie for exciting prizes!
Team Composition
Each team must consist of exactly 4 players (no reserves allowed).
Teams entirely composed of female players are eligible for the Women’s Category prizes.
Each team must appoint a team captain to coordinate and receive updates via a dedicated WhatsApp group.
Competition Format
Rules: The competition follows the World Xiangqi Rules (世界棋规).
Format: 7 rounds using the Swiss Perfect system for pairings and color assignments.
Time Control: Each player has 20 minutes per game with 0 seconds increment.
Board Order: The line-up submitted during registration is fixed for all rounds. Playing out of order results in a default loss.
Ten-Minute Start Rule: Players must be seated within 10 minutes of the round’s start, or they forfeit the round.
Disputes: The arbiter’s decision is final in all disputes.
Scoring and Tiebreakers
Individual Scoring: 1 point for a win, 0.5 points for a draw, 0 points for a loss.
Team Scoring: The sum of individual scores determines the team’s score per round. A higher team score earns 1 match point; a tie awards 0.5 match points to each team.

Cheating Prevention
The SP Mind Sports Club is committed to fair play:
No communication with spectators during games.
All electronic devices must be on silent mode with notifications off.
Use of electronic devices during matches (except for approved purposes) is prohibited.
Any cheating or suspected cheating results in immediate disqualification and a ban from the next SP OPEN.
Two fouls under World Xiangqi Rules in a round lead to a default loss.
