新加坡象棋代表队已抵达菲律宾马尼拉，整装待发，迎接今日（10月3日）正式开赛的第21届亚洲象棋个人锦标赛。

在领队、永久名誉会长林关浩的带领下，新加坡代表队由林子冲、陈茗芳及林超贤三位棋手组成。

经过从新加坡前往马尼拉的旅程后，三位棋手已抵达比赛场地，准备迎接来自亚洲各地的强手，在亚洲舞台上一展棋艺。本届赛事由亚洲象棋联合会主办、菲律宾象棋协会承办，共有来自亚洲象棋联合会20个会员国家和地区的代表队参赛。

男子组共有24名棋手参赛，进行6轮积分编排赛后进入冠亚军决赛；女子组则有11名棋手参赛，进行5轮积分编排赛。比赛采用《世界象棋规则》，用时为每方45分钟，每步加20秒。

首轮比赛将于今日下午2点展开，赛事将进行至10月8日。

🇸🇬 Team Singapore Arrives in Manila for the 21st Asian Xiangqi Individual Championship

The Singapore Xiangqi contingent has arrived in Manila and is ready for the 21st Asian Xiangqi Individual Championship, which gets underway today, 3 October, at the Manila Hotel.

Led by Team Manager and Permanent Honorary President Lim Kwan How, the Singapore contingent comprises Justin Lim, Fiona Tan and Lim Chau Sian.

After making the journey from Singapore, the trio have arrived at the competition venue and are ready to take on strong opponents from across Asia. The championship brings together players from 20 member countries and regions of the Asian Xiangqi Federation, making it a major gathering of talent from across the region.

The Men’s Division features 24 players and will be contested over six rounds of Swiss-system play, followed by a championship final. The Women’s Division features 11 players over five rounds. Games are played under the World Xiangqi Rules, with a time control of 45 minutes plus 20 seconds per move.

The first round begins today at 2:00pm (Manila time), marking the start of five days of competition.

When AI Can Calculate Further, Why Do We Still Play Xiangqi?

Thank you to Lianhe Zaobao for shining a spotlight on Xiangqi in Singapore and on the next generation of young players.

AI can calculate faster and further, but Xiangqi has never been just about finding the “best move”. It teaches our young players to think independently, face both victory and defeat, respect their opponents, and have the courage to make decisions amid uncertainty.

This is why the Singapore Xiangqi General Association remains committed to youth development. We hope to introduce Xiangqi to more young people, provide pathways from schools to competitions and from the local to the international stage, and pass on the culture and wisdom of Xiangqi from one generation to the next.

This November, we look forward to seeing our young players compete and learn alongside players from around the world at the 2026 World Xiangqi Tournament Series in Singapore!

世界杯象棋快棋赛选拔标准

感谢所有报名并表达参赛意愿的棋手。

本次赛事共有 7名成年棋手（5名男子棋手及2名女子棋手） 获选。选拔标准如下：

棋手必须在过去三年（2024年至2026年）内，曾在以下任何一项赛事中取得前三名的成绩：

•⁠ ⁠孙文广全国个人赛（男：A组，女：女子组）
•⁠ ⁠擎天杯棋王赛
•⁠ ⁠图龙杯
•⁠ ⁠蔡厝港个人公开赛
•⁠ ⁠Pesta Sukan

符合上述条件的棋手，将根据最新等级分进行排名及选拔。

此外，本次赛事也选出了 3名青年棋手 代表参赛。

我们已私下联系所有获选棋手，以便他们提前做好参加本次赛事的相关准备。

Selection Criteria for World Cup Rapid Xiangqi Event

Thank you to all who have registered your interest in this event.

7 adult players (5 males and 2 females) have been selected using the following criteria.

The players must have achieved at least a top 3 position for any of the following competitions within the past 3 years (2024-2026):
•⁠ ⁠孙文广全国个人赛（男：A组，女：女子组）
•⁠ ⁠⁠擎天杯棋王赛
•⁠ ⁠⁠图龙杯
•⁠ ⁠⁠蔡厝港个人公开赛

They will then be ranked according to the latest rating score (等级分).

In addition, 3 youth players who have also been selected.

We have privately reached out to the selected players so they can make preparations for this tournament.

2026 世界象棋系列赛落户新加坡 11月10日至15日盛大举行

新加坡象棋总会谨此荣幸与世界象棋联合会共同主办 2026 世界象棋系列赛，赛事将于 2026 年 11 月 10 日至 15 日 在新加坡举行。

本届赛事官方网站现已上线，国际棋手及嘉宾可通过官方网站了解赛事详情、报名参赛、查询住宿及相关资讯。

本届赛事汇聚三项世界级赛事，其中包括历来主要在欧洲举办的 第五届世界象棋公开赛，首次来到新加坡举行，别具意义，也是新加坡象棋发展历程中的一个重要里程碑。

2026 World Xiangqi Tournament Series to be Held in Singapore from 10–15 November

The Singapore Xiangqi General Association (SIXGA) is honoured to co-host the 2026 World Xiangqi Tournament Series with the World Xiangqi Federation (WXF), to be held in Singapore from 10 to 15 November 2026.

The official event website is now live. International players and guests may visit the website for tournament information, registration, accommodation details and other important updates.

The tournament series features three prestigious world events, including the 5th World Xiangqi Open Tournament, which has traditionally been held in Europe. Its debut in Singapore marks a significant milestone for both the tournament and the continued development of Xiangqi in Singapore.

We look forward to welcoming players, arbiters, officials and guests from around the world to Singapore for an exciting week of world-class competition, friendship and cultural exchange, as we celebrate and advance the global development of Xiangqi together.

On 17 August 2026, the Singapore Xiangqi General Association (SIXGA) and Asian Mind Sports Association (AMSA) signed two strategic cooperation agreements to advance the development of Xiangqi in the new era, including an MOU to jointly promote and co-host the upcoming World Xiangqi Tournament Series in Singapore this November.

Together, we hope to open new possibilities for Xiangqi, inspire the next generation, and bring the mind sport to greater heights in Singapore and beyond.

A Brief Overview of the Origins of Xiangqi and Its Development in Asia

Xiangqi, or Chinese Chess, is more than a game of strategy and intellect. With a long history rooted in Chinese culture, it has evolved and spread across Asia, becoming an important part of the region’s traditional board-game culture.

The Singapore Xiangqi General Association (SIXGA) is pleased to present a special talk:

“A Brief Overview of the Origins of Xiangqi and Its Development in Asia”

The talk will be delivered by Mr Lim Kwan How, Permanent Honorary President of the Singapore Xiangqi General Association, on 29 August 2026 (Saturday), from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM.

Mr Lin has been actively involved in the development and promotion of Xiangqi in Singapore. In this talk, he will share an overview of the origins and historical development of Xiangqi, as well as its spread across Asia and the development of the Xiangqi movement in the region.

The session will provide an opportunity for participants to learn more about:

• The origins and historical development of Xiangqi
• The spread of Xiangqi across Asia
• The development of Xiangqi in Singapore
• Xiangqi exchanges and activities across Asia
• The role of Xiangqi in preserving and promoting traditional culture

今天中午在“悦之園”（SAFRA Mount Faber) 举行“双喜临门” 的欢庆，祝福新加坡象棋总会前会长、永久名誉会长、亚洲象棋联合会秘书长林关浩的80 华诞暨新书面世。

大会司仪为新加坡象棋总会会长龚敬文医生，他说这不仅仅是双喜临门，应该是三喜临门。因为上周举行的新加坡体育节宿将比赛中，林会长以七连胜佳绩勇夺冠军！

寿星翁林关浩致欢迎辞，提到友好的珍贵，大家二话不说，各地象棋领导皆来参加，大家的支持显现肝胆相照的豪情。其中有柳大华和王斌特级大师令人瞩目。另外，平时弟妹分散各地，如今大哥生日，大家云集狮城，正是手足情深，血浓于水！
他表示从70 岁起，以勇敢精神及快乐心境迎接80 岁。他总结他的新朋好友，给予他莫大的支持，让他生活的美好快乐。最重要的是有个好老伴，给予很大的照顾！是快乐的源泉。他自己本身的乐观及每天都沉浸于优雅的生活如下棋、书法、写作等，使自己变得更富活力。他相信以这种快乐的心态，可以走到90 岁！

来自茶阳（大埔）会馆文教主任李宏斌PBM 致辞称赞林关浩在著作方面有很高的成就，会馆己经支持他出版了三本专著，他希望继续与林会长合作促进本地的创作。他也鼓励象棋总会的比赛活动可以到新会所进行，有助推动棋艺。
前政务部长曾士生形容林关浩对推动象棋运动，内心深处永远具有强烈的情感，其热心永不言退。
大会主宾苏慧敏囯会议员称赞林先生为棋运作出巨大贡献。

大家齐唱生日歌祝寿。大会特地免费敬赠与会者每人一本新书。何彩霞、符瑛瑛两位老师及多位象棋总会理事们各献唱精彩歌曲。大家度过一个美好的周末时光。

王斌特级大师一对十二车轮战圆满举行

作为本届活动的重头戏之一，王斌特级大师一对十二车轮战吸引了众多棋友及观众到场观赛，现场气氛热烈。十二位来自不同背景的棋手同场迎战世界级特级大师，展开一场精彩绝伦的象棋盛宴。

车轮战不仅考验特级大师的整体布局、计算能力与体力，也让每位参赛者获得难能可贵的机会，与世界顶尖棋手面对面切磋、交流棋艺。比赛过程中，王斌特级大师沉着应战，在十二盘棋之间来回穿梭，展现出深厚的棋力、丰富的经验及稳定的心理素质，赢得现场观众阵阵掌声。

经过激烈较量，王斌特级大师取得了7胜5和的不败战绩。其中，Fiona Tan Min Fang、Allen Choo Yong Kiat、Zhu Yuduo、Wang Zirui及Tan Tong Hiang成功弈和特级大师，其余七位棋手虽未能取胜，但都展现了顽强拼搏的精神，为观众奉献了一场场精彩对局。

新加坡象棋总会衷心感谢王斌特级大师的精彩演出，以及所有参赛棋手、工作人员和观众的支持与参与。此次车轮战不仅促进了棋艺交流，也进一步推动了新加坡象棋运动的发展，让更多人感受到中华传统文化与象棋艺术的独特魅力。

中国象棋特级大师 王斌

1979年出生于江苏南京，中国象棋特级大师、国际运动健将，现任南京市侨联文化大使。

王斌8岁开始学习象棋，1992年入选江苏省象棋队，展现出卓越的棋艺天赋。1996年，年仅16岁的他便协助江苏队首次夺得全国象棋团体赛冠军。2001年获得全国象棋个人锦标赛亚军，并于2003年正式晋升为中国象棋特级大师。

职业生涯中，王斌屡创佳绩，曾荣获“五羊杯”全国象棋冠军邀请赛季军。2007年，他在象棋大师赛中接连击败许银川、蒋川两位顶尖棋手，一举夺得冠军；2014年，又在“韩信杯”全国象棋超级快棋赛加赛中力克王天一，再添重要冠军头衔。

凭借深厚的棋艺、丰富的大赛经验及稳健的棋风，王斌一直是中国象棋界最具代表性的特级大师之一。
